Stroll through time as we explore our rich history laid to rest in Fresno's historic Mountain View Cemetery in a living history cemetery tour…
In this living history program, meet a few of the interesting people who are buried in Fresno's oldest cemetery, including Fresno County's first doctor, Lewis Leach; Fresno's first teacher, Mary McKenzie Hoxie; and Charles Shaver, a prominent lumber magnate and namesake of Shaver Lake.
The seated presentation will begin at 10 a.m. in the Odd Fellows Mausoleum. Actors in period costumes will portray the historic figures as they share lively vignettes about Fresno's pioneers. Light refreshments and a graveside tour led by Fresno Historical Society staff to the final resting places will follow after the program.
