El Violin is Chicano.
El Violin is Fresno.
El Violin is a colorful, vibrant tapestry made from threads of Santana and mariachi, of hip hop and jazz.
Patrick Contreras debuted El Violin in the fall of 2017. In just a few months, the unique songs that make up this vivid collection have wowed audiences throughout California, including Long Beach’s Latin American Museum of Art, Oxnard College, and The Saguaro Palm Springs.
A Fresno native, Patrick Contreras has used his unique take on the violin to carve an exceptional path. By crafting an extraordinary blend of mariachi, hip hop, rock, jazz, and classical, Contreras has become a Valley favorite in his own right. Recently, Contreras expanded his repertoire to include electronic dance music (EDM). This unique perspective has caught the ears of a diverse range of artists, leading Contreras to work with the likes of Johnny Mathis, Datsik, The Wailers, Porter Robinson, and Salvador Santana.
