Course Description: Child Centered Play Therapy is a core skill for helping children, ages 3 to 12, who are experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties. CCPT is a humanistic therapy based on the premise that play is the language of children, that growth and healing develops from fully and completely accepting the child exactly as she or he is and that safety and structure are essential ingredients. This course will cover the foundation and principals of CCPT, teach the skills, increase understanding of play themes, including trauma play and discuss ways to include parents.
